Amy Rose looked up from the heavy box she'd been pulling through the woods. Sonic and Manic must have gotten ahead of her, they where no where in sight.

"Sonic?" She called.

"I'm just ahead of you, Ames, come quick!" He replied excitedly.

"Did you see something?" The pink hedgehog let go of the box and ran eagerly to where the voice was coming from.

Sonic stood alone in a clearing, looking intently into the trees as if something was hiding in the branches.

"What is i-?"

Amy was interrupted when something jumped out of the bushes, growling at her.

"AHHHHH-Wait, MANIC!!!" She screamed, then scolded.

Both boy hedgehogs fell on the ground laughing.

"You should have seen the look on your face!" Manic laughed.

"I wish I had a picture." Sonic continued laughing as he stood back up.

"You're both absolutely horrid boys." Amy said, crossing her arms and pouting.

"Don't be too mad. It was all in fun." Sonic explained as he helped Manic stand up.

The girl just scowled and didn't reply. She sat down a large rock nearby and remained there as the boys set up all of their cameras and other equipment.

"How did you afford all of this?" She asked Sonic once she believed she'd given him the cold shoulder long enough.

"Ask Manic, he's the one who got it."

She cast a questioning glance toward Manic, whom avoided eye contact.

"The ermm...Usual way I afford things." He said sheepishly.

"Oh, Manic. I thought you where really going to stop that." The usually cheerful girl gave him a displeased look.

"I was...Sort of...I thought about it...A little. Anyway, don't you WANT to catch Bigfoot?"

"If I was sure he was real I would."

"He's real all right. I read this article in a magazine by the one guy and HE said he SAW him. Right in this area."

"How much do you know about this guy?"

"For one thing, it said he got admitted to Happy Springs two weeks after the sighting."

For once, Amy was tempted to do a literal face palm.

"Manic, that's a crazy home in Station Square."

"Dude, it IS? I thought it was a resort" The wild haired hedgie's eyes went huge.

"No, it's a loony bin. The sort of place you will end up in one day. Along with your friend, Clipsy, and all those other lunatics you know."

"If they're all going to be there, then it will be a blast!"

The pink hedgehog shook his head in disbelief

"Are you sure you two are related?" She asked Sonic.

"According to my mother we are."

"Maybe he's adopted and you never knew!"

"Sonia's more likely to be the adopted one, Amy."

"He's right you know." His brother agreed. He was plugging in a few cords to the equipment, and inadvertently shocked himself until his hair was even wilder.


The afternoon wore on. Camera and heat sensors where set up all about the surrounding area. In a small clearing, they set up the "Bigfoot Base Camp." Basically, it was where they kept a cooler stocked with snacks and soda, a few chairs, a small table, and a deck of cards. Of course, some alarms and larger equipment also sat around there, to alert them if any of their things had been triggered.

"Go Bird." Manic said lazily.

"For the last time, Manic, it's 'Go Fish.'" Amy rolled her eyes. Was this torment REALLY worth spending the whole day with Sonic?

"Whatever." He replied, taking another sip of his orange soda.

Sonic shrugged and drew another card out of the deck.

"Amy, do you have any...Fourteen's?" Manic asked.

"The cards only go up to nine." This day just kept getting worse.

"Oh."

Just as Sonic's self proclaimed girlfriend had just about had it, one of the alarms went off.

"Sweet chilidogs!" The blue blur exclaimed as he bolted up, knocked over the card table.

"That's the alarms for the sensor JUST East of here!" Manic said as he ran off.

"That's West, bro!" Sonic called, heading the other direction.

The green hedgehog skidded to a halt, then turned around and follow Sonic. Amy trailed after the two of them at a much slower pace.

"Where is it?" Sonic said. Looking frantically about as he reached the sight.

"I don't kn-OHHHH!" Manic was cut off when their own large net they'd set down pulled both of them up and into the trap.

It was a typical trap, four corners of a large net, tied to the same spot. When someone stepped on it it would pull them up and into a makeshift cage made by the net itself.

As the pink hedgehog approached, the two boys loudly called to her to get them down.

"Only if Sonic takes me on a date when we get home." She smiled.
