"I can't believe it, Spike! They only had one copy of this book, but I got it!" The violet haired girl looked down to her side, expecting to see her younger companion walking beside her, then blushed with embarrassment once she remembered he hadn't come with her that day.

"That's right," she said quietly to herself and laughed a little, "Spike went to go help Rarity today. I guess I'm so used to him being with me that I just forgot, sometimes I can be so spacey."

CRASH!!!

Twilight was so preoccupied with hoping no one had heard her talking to the imaginary Spike that she had stopped watching where she was going.

"Oh!" The girl stumbled back a few steps, first the color of candy-apple red filled her vision, then she looked up to a smiling face with spring green eyes, "Macintosh, I'm so sorry! I should have been looking watching where I was going! I'm such a klutz today, I mean first I walked into the door without opening it, then talking to Spike who wasn't really there and now this and, a-and now I'm rambling at you mindlessly and I think I should just shut up now..."

If there was one thing Twilight was sure of, it was that she had never been so embarrassed in her life as she was at that moment.

"Don't worry about it, Miss Twilight," the boy replied with a thick country accent, "Accidents happen."

"Thank you," she replied, nervously brushing part of her hair behind her ear, "Oh no! I must have dropped my book when I ran into you!"

While the girl looked about frantically for the missing book, Macintosh leaned over and picked up something with a hard green cover off the ground.

"Would this be it?" He asked, holding up the book in question.

"Yes, thank you so much!" Twilight replied as she reached for the book, which to her surprise Macintosh then moved from her immediate reach.

"Now Miss Twilight," he began, "This is an awful heavy book, and a lady such as yourself shouldn't have to carry something like this any distance at all. With your permission I think it would be the proper thing if I walked you home and carried it for you."

"That's really not necessary, Macintosh. I'm perfectly capable of-," she started to say before he spoke again.

"I insist, Miss Twilight," he said, beginning to walk the path back to Twilight's library, "What's this big ol' book about, anyhow?"

It just so happened that this book was on one of Twilight's favorite subjects, astronomy, and at the mention of someone else wanting to learn about the matter her eye lite up and she began explaining, "It's really quite fascinating..."

This is a gift for my little sister,
One of her favorite pairings from the "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" show, Big MacintoshXTwilight Sparkle. I told her I'd draw this a while back, just now finished it and added a short story just for fun.

I really don't like how this picture looks on paper, but after I scanned it I edited a few things and now I think I'm okay with it. It's still not my best, but whatever. Twilight's huge flippin' eyelashes are bugging me too, I changed the way I draw them shortly after I had inked this picture. >.>

Please Note: I am NOT a MLP fan, I've seen the show, it's a cute show but I wouldn't watch it if it weren't for my siblings, they love it. I'm saying this for two reasons:

1. This means I'm not going to be drawing much pony fan art, okay? Maybe for my sister or friends who like the show from time to time, or even just because I like the show's art style every once in a blue moon, but I'm not going to be drawing lots of it.

2. That's why their personalities may not 100% accurate in the story above, I don't know the characters as well as I normally would when writing something.

3. That's why their designs are messed up, I did them from memory, but since I don't "watch" the show I forgot the details of their designs. Just saying that before someone points it out. I know I got Twilight's cutie mark wrong, I also know that Big Mac's hair is actually straight, but I wanted to make it a "cute country boy" sort of shaggy. Although I think I over killed it and accidentally made him look a little like a blond version of my OC, Rizzi. >.< There's probably other design flaws in this too, but I'm not certain.
