Infamous
Chapter 2

"They probably think we aren't coming today." Clipsy was walking down the back streets of Station Square, some time after noon.

"We'd be there already if you hadn't slept so late." Manic pointed out.

The two where on their way to the Hang-Out for the day. Before leaving yesterday they'd set up to play against some friends in a game of ping-pong on the current day.

"We where supposed to be there an hour ago." Clipsy moaned.

"No biggie. We'll cut this way." Manic rushed ahead of her and turned the corner sharply to the left.

As Clipsy reached the corner as well, she was shocked to find Manic running right back at her.

"GO! GO! GO!" He shouted. Grabbing her wrist as he ran past and pulling her along behind him.

Manic was no where near as quick his older brother, Sonic, but he was still faster than Clipsy, so it was no surprise her feet where constantly slipping out from under her.

"MANIC! What on earth is wrong?!?"

"I'll explain later!" He yelled.

Clipsy's eyes suddenly widened as she heard the screaming of police whistles and the sound of a siren coming after them.

Maybe she had wanted to be infamous, but she'd prefer to know what they'd done first.

All of the sudden, Manic pulled her into a dark corner in an alley, between a dumpster and a wall. From his extensive street smarts, he knew where every small hiding place in town was.

Both teenagers knew better than to make a single noise until the noise of the siren passed them by. There was no way an un-street-trained eye would see this odd spot.

Many people don't know this, but when your hiding for an important reason, your breath can sound every bit as loud as church bells.

As the wailing noises past, they both let out a sigh of relief.

"W-What was that all about?" She asked quietly. She couldn't see a thing in the dark corner but she could feel Manic's hand resting on her arm.

"I don't know." He confessed. "I just walked past, and all of the sudden they started shouting and running after me."

"So you ran? That was the stupidest thing you could have done."

"Maybe it wasn't, because whatever this is, I'd rather find out before I get arrested. Besides, there's no going back now."

"What do you mean, no going back?"A strange tone rang in the squirrel's voice.

"We ran away. If we go back we'll just be in even more trouble."

"What makes you so sure they're after us?"

"Clips, there was no one else around. It was me. Not to mention, they hyped up all the more when they saw YOU."

"We haven't done anything that wrong!"

"I know. We'll have to find out what it is they're upset about."

"At least this is everything we wanted, right?"

"You thinkin' what I'm thinkin'?"

"This is going to be awesome!" They said in unison.

"Surely there will be something here that can help us. I'll go get some of my stuff. Wait here." Clipsy ran up the stairs of her own home. Her parents where on vacation, so no one else was in the house.

By her stuff, Clipsy was referring to her vast collection of disguises and other such things. She probably had enough stuff to suit an entire masquerade.

"Okay." Manic watched until she disappeared up the stairs.

As soon as she was out of sight he quickly rushed over to where he knew Clipsy kept her stash of coconut macrons.

"Come to Manic." He grabbed a handful of the treats out of the cookie jar hidden under the living room window.

After stuffing about three macrons in his mouth he suddenly heard a noise outside that caused him to look up.

There where two police cars outside the house.

"CLIPSY!" He called as he stumbled back from the window. "Get down here!"

"What is it?" She asked excitedly as she slid down the banister rail with a small bag in one hand.

"Cops! They're outside, and there's like two cars."

"Of all the times for my parents to go on vacation." A look of slight nausea came over the squirrel's face.

"There's no time for that. We've got to get out of here A.S.A.P."

"Just HOW do you expect us do that without being seen?"

"Don't you have an escape tunnel or something?"

"Oh yeah sure we do. We last used it WHEN THE UNICORNS INVADED!"

"I'm assuming that was sarcastic."

"Well no duh.

"Any trees close to a window?" Manic was still trying to think of a plan, and fast.

Before Clipsy could answer, there was a knock on the front door.

"It's them!" She exclaimed.

Clipsy tried to repeat thoughts in her mind of her long-time dream as she silently motioned for Manic to follow her back up the stairs.

As the police, outside, called for someone to answer the door, the two teenagers crawled out an upstairs window and into a lush tree branch.

"We'll wait up here until they go." Clipsy whispered.

"Then we need to find out what on Mobius is up." Manic agreed.
Alrighty, chapter two is now done.

Honestly, I'm not overly fond of this chapter. I mean, it's okay, but it could be better. Manic just isn't acting quite enough...Manic-like. Don't worry, I'm working on it. Hopefully the next chapter will have a little more entertainment value.

So yeah, expect the first of many FCs to enter soon.

Enjoy!

Manic belongs to DiC Entertainment
Clipsy belongs to me!

Not so fun NOW, huh, guys? XP

This is great!! I love it how they're so naive and they think they know so much. It makes for a great plot when the characters have to learn something. this is all flowing REALLY nicely! ...though I shouldn't be surprised at that, should I? =P
