"Sappy movie ending, is sappy." Manic rolled his eyes and yawned.

"Tell me about it." Clipsy said.

The two where sitting in Clipsy's convertible at a drive in movie, about a week had passed since Chief had been put behind bars. Unfortunately, the newspaper in the backseat of the car told one of the most unsettling parts of this whole adventure.

"Gang Leader, Chief the Bulldog and Co., caught!" The newspaper stated. "Unfortunately, two more main suspects in this crime of framing and robbery have yet to be caught. Locket the Kat, the assassin, was not with the gang when they where found, and Chief's right hand man, Slime the Lizard fled from the police. He managed to escape. Station Square Police Department will not reveal if they know the lizard's current whereabouts or not."

But Clipsy wasn't really thinking about Slime at the moment. It wasn't like there had been any sign of him or Locket since that day at the waterfall. Instead, she was sitting, oddly enough, with her hands on the steering wheel like a living wad of nerves.

She realized she must be acting strange, and just a little too shy for her usual self. On the other hand, Manic had never sat right next to her with his arm slightly draped over the back of her seat before.

No matter how many times she told herself he didn't mean anything by it, she felt like her hands where glued to the steering wheel, and her eyes straight ahead.

Even as the credits started to roll, she didn't move a muscle.



"Stupid teens." A lone voice muttered to himself with anger as he watched from a nearby hilltop. Under the cover of night, he was sure to go unseen. "Cost me everything. From a good foot to high ranks with the most powerful guy in the city. Maybe even the world."

Slime's scars twisted as he scowled.

Revenge.

The word pounded in his mind repeatedly.

"Now that stupid Chief's gone, I'M the Boss."

He continued to talk to himself. Maybe he was going crazy. Or maybe just finally realizing he'd been under appreciated for too long.

"You kids haven't seen the last of me..." He said as he walked away from the hill.



"Uh, Clips..." Manic looked at her with slight concern. "Movie's over. You're totally spacing out."

"Sorry!" All of the sudden her expression seemed to come to life again and she jerked her head to look at Manic.

"Wait..." She thought to herself.

But moments don't wait, and Clipsy realized all too late what was happening.

Eyes locked, she couldn't stop herself from moving closer...Closer...

Closer...

HOOOOOOOOOOOOONNKK!

The horn of the car blared and both teens nearly jumped to opposite ends, nearly flattened against the doors with fast heart beats. Scared half to death.

"Oh, gosh..." Clipsy blushed. Not only had she just missed what could have been one of the most important moments of her life by about five seconds, her hand had slipped from the steering wheel and onto the car horn. Now everyone at the drive-in movie theater was giving her odd looks.

"Yeah..." Manic fixed his hair in what was possibly the most awkward moment in the world.

Clipsy just sighed, buckled her seat belt, and started the car.

Hoping for dear life that Manic would change the subject.

"Hey, before we go home, we should totally ring the Chaotix's doorbell and run away!" He said in an excited tone.

Thank goodness boys have short attention spans.

"Sounds like a plan to me!" Clipsy smiled sped out of the parking lot at an insane speed.
