Suspicious
Chapter 13

Zaravin was certain she'd never felt so many emotions in her life. As she ran away she felt dizzy for a moment and realized maybe she'd better stop. For the first time since running out of the apartment building she took a second to find out where she was.

Funny how when your running so fast and crying so hard, sometimes you can't even tell where your going. You just know that you're going.

Looking around, she realized she wasn't completely certain WHERE she was. It didn't seem like a bad part of town, though.

To avoid contact with others, she flew into a nearby tree and curled up in the brush so she was out of sight. She pulled her legs to her chest and put her forehead on her knees.

For a while, she just cried. It was all she wanted to do and all she thought she could at that time.

It seemed like half a lifetime before her tear ducts stopped working so hard. Sniffling she looked up and saw that the sun was setting. Zaravin had lost track of time.

She was used to running away from any problem that came her way. Not because of a bad life, quite the opposite. Because she had had too much of her own way and did whatever possible to avoid conflict.

Though, no matter what Charmy had done to her, could she bring herself to abandon him?

Sometimes, the hardest thing to do is nothing at all.

Charmy was feeling that all day long. He had no way to get into the recreation center and undo the mess he'd made.

He spent a long time looking around for Zaravin, but it was hopeless. She was long gone and Charmy knew she never wanted to see him again.

This could cause his life to go down the tubes completely. He was going to lose two of his best friends. Even worse, he had already lost Zaravin.

The bee wasn't sure what he wanted more, the key to the rec center, or one last chance to see Zaravin and try again to make up for what he'd done.

As fast as Charmy wanted time to pass quickly, it went at it's own pace. Though, sure enough eventually the time for the dance came. Charmy didn't even bother to get changed from his casual clothes into his suit for the dance as he bolted to the rec center as fast as possible.

"Sir," said the girl at the front desk as he walked in, "do you have a ticket for tonights event?"

"Ticket...Oh, Chaos..." He muttered to himself. Zaravin had his ticket. "N-no ma'am."

"Then I'm afraid I can't let you in." She said calmly.

Charmy realized he didn't have time to argue. Though he wasn't sure what else he was going to do.

Idea.

For once, it wasn't for a cruel purpose either.

Running outside, Charmy managed to locate one of the many air vents he'd seen a few days before while loading the vile balloons in the first place. It was a tight fit but he some how squeezed through the vent and into the room above the stage.

He didn't know just what to do with the balloons, so he just pulled them out of the small trap door area and sat them next to him as quickly as possible.

As he heard them beginning to announce them king of the dance below, he worked even faster.

Then, in of the dim light in the upper room, a small hand brushed over his and began pulling balloons out of the trap door area as well.

"Zara..." He said quietly as he looked up. His eyes met hers and wanted so badly to start apologizing now, but there was no time.

Just as Charmy pulled out the last balloon, they announced Tails as the king of the dance below. Zaravin nodded tearfully and turned and went toward the way they had both gotten in.

"Zaravin, wait!" He called and he leaned out over the trap door. Unfortunately, he lost his balance and fell.

As the trap doors opened Charmy fell out and onto the stage, several of the balloon on the floor next to the door rolled after him and exploded all over him.

"CHARMY?" Everyone in the building who knew his name called loudly when he hit the stage floor.

He didn't answer but instead, now dripping with green smile, he flew straight over everyone's heads and to the door.

"Charmy, what's going on?" Cream yelled as he reached the door.

"I'll tell ya later!" He called as he left quickly.

"ZARAVIN!!!" He called when he got outside.

There was no answer.

Charmy flew around the side of the building just in time to see her long blue hair blowing behind her as the butterfly ran down a nearby street and into an ally.

Right before Charmy reached the end of the ally, he heard her scream.

Turning his head around the corner to see down the dark way, the most terrifying thing he'd ever seen met his eyes.

The Snakes where there, and they had Zaravin.
EEEKKK! :eager: I'll try to get the next chapter out tomorrow, okay? Should be the next to last chapter. ^-^

Enjoy!

Charmy, Cream, and Tails belong to Sega
Zaravin belongs to me!
