"Good bye Tails, I'll miss you." Cream hugged the kitsune at the bus station right before it was time to leave for Summer Camp.

"I'll miss you too." Tails said as he picked up Cream and spun her around once.

While Cream laughed and smiled, Charmy stood scowling nearby.

After Tails put her back on the ground, the teenage rabbit turned to Charmy.

"Bye." Charmy said somewhat coldly.

"What's wrong? Don't think I was going to forget tell you good bye!" To Charmy's surprised, Cream quickly hugged him as well.

As she stepped back and looked toward the bus she smiled at both boys.

"I'm going to miss you both." She said. "Now, do me a favor and don't get into TOO much trouble while I'm gone, okay?"

"Don't worry. I'll keep a close eye on Charmy." Tails said with a laugh.

"I was thinking the other way around." She giggled before waving at the boys and running off to bid her mother and step-father, Vector, farewell before she left.

"What are we going to do while she's gone?" Charmy asked as Cream was boarding the bus.

"I think I'll work on some inventions and the usual stuff." Tails answered. "I figured you had to work on catching the 'Hardware Thief'."

"Who?"

"The guy you told me about at the store a while ba-"

"Oh him!" Charmy said as he remembered his lie. "Uhh, turns out that was all a big hoax."

"Oh." Judging by his tone, Charmy wasn't totally sure Tails believed him.

As the bus pulled out of the station, Cream sat waving from her window seat. They could see her mouthing "bye" to them.

"Bye, again!" Both boys said in unison, even though she couldn't hear them either.

"Good bye, Sweetheart! Have fun!" Cream's mother, Vanilla, called.

"Don't forget to bring home all of the competition medals! That's my girl!" Vector said.

"Vector, dear, they don't have any sort of competitions or prises at Daisy Valley Summer Camp." Vanilla corrected him.

"She should still get one for being the brightest girl out there." The crocodile mumbled. Even though he was only Cream's step-father, there was no mistaking the pride he felt toward his daughter.

As the bus drove out of sight, Charmy hoped that the next week would go by quickly.



"Are you SURE I can't have a raise? I found that lost kitten we where hired to find last week!" Charmy begged Vector one week after Cream's departure.

"Again, the answer is no. Besides, you tripped over it, if you hadn't found it then you'd be wearing glasses right now." Was the stern reply.

"Oh, come on!"

While Charmy continued to argue with his boss, Vanilla came out of the kitchen with a well sized home-made cake.

These three Mobians, along with Tails, where in Vector and Vanilla's forest home. They where waiting for Cream to arrive home after her week-long absence. Vanilla had even made a cake and some snacks for the occasion.

Some people might think it was odd to have a party for someone who had been gone for so short of time. Though, if you step back and think about it, Cream wasn't away from home very much, and this wasn't much of a party. Just a couple of close friends and some refreshments.

"Vector, last I heard it was almost a year ago you gave Charmy a raise." Vanilla said as she placed her cake on a snack table.

"Yeah, but-!"

"Now, Vector..." Charmy smirked playfully.

There was one thing Charmy definitely liked about Vector's marrying Vanilla.

She always sided with Charmy.

Vector scowled and mumbled.

"We'll talk about it at work tomorrow..."

"But I wanted the day off!"

"No way!"

"Vector..." Vanilla spoke again.

"Fine..."

Charmy smiled. Life was pretty good right now.

"She's here!" Tails declared. He had been sitting in the large window, watching for the bus that was bringing Cream home.

"Alright! Boys, stay out of sight, when she comes in yell 'SURPRISE!'" Vector ordered.

"It's not like it's her birthday..."

"Clam it Buzz-Boy."

"Vector," Vanilla started. "Cream called earlier, I forgot to tell you that-."

"Shhh! Here she comes!" The crocodile said as he glanced out the window. "You can tell me in a minute."

"But Vector-."

Vanilla was interrupted by a knock on the front door.

'Why is she knocking, it's her house?' Charmy thought to himself.

"It's open!" Vector said.

As the door opened slowly the everyone shouted "Surprise!"

"I'm so glad you're back!" Charmy ran toward the door, only to find himself face to face with something he didn't expect.

Instead of Cream, a butterfly girl about her age was standing there. She was obviously shocked by the "Surprise!" as well as Charmy.

The girl was on the small side, but not too much. She had blue hair that hung just below her shoulders and delicate yellow wings with pink accents. She was wearing a light green shirt with no shoulders and a white knee length skirt that looked like it was made of over-laid flower petals. Her boots where the same color as her dress, only with white strips down the side that had pink hearts in them.

"I'm home!' Cream called as she walked in the open door behind the butterfly.

Cream turned and smiled at Charmy and the butterfly.

"I don't know if mother told you that I was bringing my new friend." The rabbit smiled. "This is Zaravin."
