"Charmy! Phone for you!" Espio yelled the next morning at the Chaotix Agency.

Charmy flew in and quickly took the phone from the chameleon's hands.

"Be off of there before Vector gets here for the work day." Espio added.

"Doesn't matter. I've got the day off!" Charmy bragged before speaking into the phone.

"Hello?" He said.

"Charmy? It's Cream."

"Cream?!?" Charmy didn't mean to sound so excited, but the thing was, Cream NEVER called him.

"Yeah. Hey, listen, I was thinking..."

"Uh-huh..."

"Do you want to go to the Roller Rink tonight?"

Charmy's eyes went huge and he nearly dropped the phone as he plopped down into a nearby chair.

"Y-y-yes! I mean, that would be great!""

"Cool! Meet you there at 6:00, okay?"

"Okay!"

"Bye, Charmy!"

"Later." Charmy hung up the phone and stared blankly into space for a moment.

But just ONE moment.

"YEEEEEEEEEESSSSS!!!" The bee dropped to his knees and shouted for victory.



"This is going to be the best day ever!" Charmy said to himself as he literally flew to the rink much later that day.

"HEY, CREAM!" He shouted over the music as he entered the rink and caught sight of a pair of tan rabbit ears.

"Hi, Charmy!" She smiled as she walked over. "The others are getting their skates on."

"O-others?" Charmy's face fell.

"Yeah. Come on!" Cream said as she took his hand and pulled him to the skate rental booth. She was starting to realize that maybe not mentioning the others during the phone call hadn't been such a great idea.

Charmy seriously did need dragged along behind her. He was like a dead weight since he'd heard the word "others" mentioned. How could he have been so stupid? Of course this wasn't a date. He was such an idiot.

After getting their own skates Cream and Charmy went around the corner where two more teenagers where sitting at a table with their skates already on.

"Hi, Charmy!" Zaravin smiled brightly. Just like Cream had told her to.

"Zaravin?" Charmy was defiantly confused now. He quickly realized how rude that sounded and tried to make up for it. "Uh, Hi!"

Prower was there too, that was a given, but why her?

"Hey, Charmy." Tails said.

"Hi." Was all Charmy said. If this wasn't a date, that meant Tails and Cream where probably as close as ever.

The bee sat down to put on his skates, as he did his mind was fully focused on the best way to make Cream realize she didn't REALLY like Tails.

"I'm sure Charmy would teach you how to." Cream said with a slightly teasey tone.

Charmy's head jerked up at the mention of his name. He figured out he'd totally been spacing out and hadn't heard a word until then.

"What?" He asked.

"Zaravin said she's not a very good skater." Cream said. "You're really good. Maybe you can go give her a few pointers?"

As much as Charmy wasn't happy about skating with someone other than Cream, he didn't want to disappoint her either.

"Sure." He stood up and skated to the edge the rink entrance. "C'mon." He gestured for her to come.

With a nod the butterfly stood up, caught her balance, and then carefully made her way toward Charmy. As the the bee pulled her into the mix of all the skaters Cream turned to Tails.

"You do not know HOW badly I wanted to trip her into him!" She grinned.

"What?" Tails gave her a confused expression.

"Oh, boys are so dense." She rolled her eyes. "Look at Zaravin out there. Look at her expression!"

Tails gave Cream another odd look before looking out into the fast moving crowd of skaters.

"She's...Smiling and by the looks of it, laughing. She's usually a little shy but what's so wrong with that?"

"Do I HAVE to spell it out for you?" Cream's patience was wearing thin.

"Are you saying...?" Tails seemed to finally understand.

"Duh. It's only obvious."



"This is fun!" Zaravin said loudly over the music.

"Huh? Yeah, sure." Charmy was paying next to no attention to the butterfly next to him. All he was doing was holding her hand and pulling her in circles in his mind.

The bee looked longingly at Cream and Tails chit-chatting away at the table where they'd left them. Charmy wasn't one for feelings but he knew the one he was experiencing right now.

Jealousy.

'Wait.' Charmy thought to himself. 'Jealousy...Jealousy...That's it! If Cream sees me with another girl she'll go absolutely crazy!' Charmy looked to the girl next to him and smiled. 'I don't even have to look far to find that other girl.'
